Exactly, when that AI music thing came out I really enjoyed making weird music. Like I would ask give me banjo techno with a digeridoo and I got pretty cool stuff out of it. I never pretended to be gifted at making music, but I’ll definitely use the tools to experiment.

This for me is a reason I never would get an iPhone. Although I don’t have a ton of apps from outside the playstore I do want the option. Maybe my next phone will just be a Linux phone.
I thought about this for a while and I’m not convinced.
Either AI makes slop, the “ART” is soulless, misses that creative spark we humans have and is more like in imitation of art than actual art.
In that case it will not replace human artists.
The other case is it will make thought provoking works, things that evoke real emotions and has the ability to help humanity forward. In that case I don’t really care the art is not made by humans.
But so far I’m not convinced AI (LLMs) can do this. If at some point AI makes all the art and humans stop making art. The AI doesn’t get any new training data, so it would only improve by actuall creativity and coming up with things never done before. The current state of AI feels a lot more like mixing what it knows.
