A lot more than one, I’m sure. Willing to be a lot of money traded hands between a lot of middle men before those 100 names were finalized.

No no no. They’re the good guys this time, we promise
The joke is that Democrats say it. Straight back to the Reagan Era, we had Tip O’Neil and Ted Kennedy compromising with these fuckers in order to shave away chunk after chunk of the New Deal / Great Society programs. Carter, Clinton, Obama, and Biden all played Compromiser to the intransigence of ultra-orthodox fiscal conservatives. And each new administration brought with it a new landmine for the American economy to trip over, setting off another ugly recession and new wave of poverty.
People were predicting Trump would die in office of health complications back in 2017.
These people have the best health care in the world. They have armies of staffers to see to their every whim. Their day-jobs consist of pounding on a desk for an hour or two a day and retreating back to their Government Issued Man Caves to watch FOX News until their eyeballs bleed. They won’t die.
Hell, Dick Cheney’s still alive and his heart doesn’t even beat anymore.
I wish someone would look up what “3rd World” means and stop conflating the unaligned movement with poverty.
A lot more people than just astronauts, as the NOAA cuts to Texas weather forecasting proved.
Moving to TERF Island, no less.
Can you name two or three
Ocasio-Cortez publicly castigated the railway companies and demanded better conditions for workers — then voted to forbid them from striking.
During the 2021 American Rescue Plan COVID relief bill, she advocated in favor of raising the minimum wage as part of the legislation. Ocasio-Cortez was quoted as saying. “If we as a party decide to stand down on our promise of elevating the minimum wage, I think that’s extraordinarily spurious and it’s something that as a party we could have a further conversation about how to fight for it.” With her Squad caucus - and Republican intransigence - they had the ability to hold the bill hostage until minimum wage was included. But she caved and supported the bill anyway.
And she voted for the CHIPS Act without including language to curb climate emissions from data centers, and now we’ve got a flood of new data centers that are polluting at an unprecedented rate.
(Not this vote, this is horseshit as I’ve explained elsewhere in the comments.)
It was “horseshit” that seemed to win support from Al Green and Ilhan Omar. Perhaps AOC simply had too much beef with MTG to stomach a vote. But it’s a bad look to her constituents, regardless.
Could very easily be a false-flag. AIPAC is no friend of AOC and it would hardly be the first time they tried to ratfuck a politician like this. Karl Rove and Roger Stone loved the “wedge issue” as a political strategy and would routinely work with their media proxies to play up even the slightest discontent within the liberal coalition until it was all anyone on TV talked about for months.
That said, there’s also a fair number of people who are sick to death of AOC’s own triangulating on Israel. She’s been hemming and hawing since the Biden Admin on a whole host of issues. And there’s good reason to believe the Pelosi wing of the party has been dragging her around by the nose into one disastrous compromise after another, with the bait of committee assignments and chairmanships that never materialize. So, we’re far shy of “good” when it comes to her voting record, and there’s plenty of issues to be legitimately upset over.
Fucking morons, you get what you deserve.
Get Thee Behind Me, Hakeem Jefferies
I wish that were true, but capitalists are increasingly aligned with radical religious sects intent on homogeneity enforced at the barrel of a gun.
It’s the neoliberal’s plan because they no longer control the DNC
Ken Martin is better than Tom Perez or Debbie Schultz. But he’s hardly a radical. He’s a Minnesota liberal in the Wellstone model.
We need to focus on what matters.
Let me know when the head of the DNC can get the rest of the party to endorse the popularly elected nominee for NYC Mayor.
If they can’t get behind cheap buses, low cost housing, and lower grocery bills, what the hell are they focusing on exactly?
It’s crazy to think Florida used to be a swing state.
Not to say that the dems aren’t terrible at messaging. But this seems to be more of a case of Trump having so many scandals that people forgot the details of this one.
This isn’t an exclusively Trump scandal. Epstein has his hooks in dozens - if not hundreds - of people. Billionaires like Bill Gates and politicians like Bill Clinton and royals like Andrew Edwards, Prince of York This is at least as big as the Jack Abramoff scandal from the Bush Jr era, a scandal that DeLay inadvertently engineered as exclusively Republican through his K-Street project.
It isn’t a simple messaging problem. It goes to the foundations of fundraising, candidate selection, and bureaucratic organization. Far too many people are dirty within the upper ranks of both parties.
The real criminals here are…Obama, Hillary Biden, and Adam Schiff, though!
Is now a bad time to point out that Gislaine was invited to Chelsea’s wedding? Hell, Epstein had a long ongoing relationship with Bill Clinton. To say the Clintons are culpable is an understatement.
Meanwhile, Obama and Biden are - at a bare minimum - guilty of chronic inaction. Trump’s been engaged in money laundering for the various east coast mafias and eastern human trafficking gangs for decades and gone virtually untouched.
You can squeeze your eyes and pretend Obama - a man notorious for not prosecuting wealthy crooks - isn’t to blame. But Biden? Criminal negligence boarding on treason.
Adam Schiff is, similarly, deliberately blind to the role Silicon Valley has played in a functional coup of the California and US governments. Bare minimum, he is complicit through inaction.
They also educate and inform people.
Eh. They are increasingly polluted by their private sponsors and corporate partners. I’ve given up on listening to NPR in the mornings because so much of it is very obviously native advertisement or propaganda (particularly bad in the immediate aftermath of Oct 7th, with broadcasters uncritically repeating IDF hoaxes like the “40 decapitated babies” line).
So America they’ve taken your medicade, they’ve taken the ability of a good portion of your country to be able to eat, they’re taking immigrants, tourists, or people that they don’t agree with to camps, they’re taking your education, they’re taxing you with tariffs, they have a gestapo, and they’ll be taking away more rights from Women and POC. I have to ask…how much longer until you start to get a little bit violent?
I got a “Blue Alert” on my phone not two days ago, thanks to a vigilante attacking an ICE agent. Dozens of armed cops were all over the Mayor’s Office yesterday because of a rumor of a Palestinian protest that never materialized. FFS, three different people tried to shoot the President in a two month span.
I don’t think the problem is a lack of violence. What Americans largely lack is coordination and institutional support. A thousand little lone wolves don’t a revolution make.
Only around 15% of the PBS budget comes from the federal treasury via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), thanks to decades of privatization. NPR’s budget is as little as 1% from the CBP.
Consequently, both networks have suffered from a creeping enshittification, with a rising tide of advertisement and ad-supported content taking over both networks and the forced sale of some of its most valuable assets (PBS licensing Sesame Street to Warner Brothers, for instance) to finance continued operations.
Like, by all means. Cancel your Netflix. Cancel Disney. Support public broadcasting. But this isn’t a solution in the long term, any more than cancelling Basic Cable for Netflix was a way to fix the fully privatized entertainment system. We’re still surrendering our social capital to private interests, bit by bit (or in this case by massive chunk).
This is a stab wound. We can patch it, but we shouldn’t mistake this as to anyone’s material benefit.
If Clinton isn’t on the list, it’s only because he cut a deal to keep it off.
