The State of Texas is preparing to execute Robert Roberson next month. In 2002 Roberson was convicted of the shaken baby death of his two-year-old daughter, Nikki.

Last year, Roberson came within 90 minutes of being executed. But new analysis of medical evidence shows that Nikki died from an illness and not abuse.

The Center for Integrity in Forensic Sciences (CIFS) is calling on Texas authorities to prevent what they say is the wrongful execution of Roberson. He is scheduled to [be killed] on October 16.

This is what happens when we give the state the right to murder people. Everyone imagines righteous justice, but it’s just murder. Always murder.

“Experts reject” carries no weight in today’s landscape. It does not rule out the experts who could approve, of which there always are.

Classic cherrypicking to support an agenda. This case, it’s because they don’t like the death penalty.

Do you mean it carries no weight with yourself? It may not matter to the state or system if they are going to be authoritarians and reject evidence, but it SHOULD fucking matter to us, to the people who live here and vote and make laws that are supposed to be just and equitable.

      Or is this emotion?

It’s emotion isn’t it. You are so angry at even the notion that someone harmed a baby that you are willing to abandon the standards on which our legal system has been built on? They did this also to justify killing thousands and thousands of civilians in Gaza, they knew how easily they could get people to abandon reason when they put the image of dead babies in their head.

Welcome to being a reactionary. Don’t worry, you’re not alone, the worst people in the world are down there too.

edit: just noticed you’re a troll, don’t bother replying. Go masturbate to your own dirty socks or whatever the fuck people like you do for fun.

Guess there’s no way to know anything then, so we may as well have a blood sacrifice for the blood god!

Fuck it, let’s bring back gibbets too; that way people will know what happens when they get caught by some pseudoscience quack with a chip on their shoulder and an army of meatheads who get violent when their authority is questioned.

Texas and conservatives broadly are absolutely fine with killing many innocent people.

See: how they handle healthcare, family planning and vaccines. To say nothing of the untold millions who will die over the next decade in the coming economic collapse sparked by the USA’s tariffs and cancellation of aid programs.

Ah yes, the super effective death penalty that has measurable effects when it comes to deterring crime. It’ s a good thing the justice system never makes mistakes when prosecuting. /s
