Just watch me as I continue to never go to a cracker barrel ever in my life because of how fucking irrelevant they are. I don’t even know where the nearest one to me would be.

Will also quietly remove Cracker Barrel from my restaurant possibilities. Okay, maybe not so quietly.

They’ve got decent catfish, potatoes, biscuits with apple butter.

Haven’t been in a couple years maybe, but it was good in a pinch & with a variety of food that you can get most people in a group to agree on.

Last time I was there they didn’t even have butter. Some margarine crap. And no maple syrup either. Just some crappy high fructose flavored watery stuff.

Just awful. I am surprised you found anything edible.

When you’re traveling and you just need to hop off 95 for some food, It’s better and cleaner than Wendy’s, McDonald’s and Burger King.

Face it, the semi-fast food and fast food landscape isn’t the treat it once was.

I’ve always associated cracker barrel with “angry old white people who think black pepper is spicy” and their meaner variant, the post-church crowd. so… not particularly surprised?

Yeah, I’m more surprised they had any sort of DEI language to begin with (of course it was clearly just pandering, so).

All companies expressing any political meta is pandering.

Any adherence to a political meta isn’t a testament of their values, it is a testament of their customers’ values.

Companies want the money of their customers’ and they will say or do anything they think will keep making them money.

If you think any company supports DEI or LGBTQ issues genuinely, I have a bridge to sell you.

Lol, I went to some chain and got the chicken Alfredo, the guy warns me it’s a bit spicy. I tell him no worries, bring it on. The thing has like 6 flakes of red pepper on it. I figured he had to warn me bc some Karen complained.

Ah, I see going back to late 90’s full blow racism. Looking forward to seeing nooses back as part of their decor then and how we’ll they’ll do with their only MAGA base.

Don’t even joke like it wasn’t universally disliked, I didn’t care about the logo change, it’s plain and boring in comparison but idrc. I eat there sometimes as the food is good.

You’re falling for the propaganda that Trump made it happen or it was somehow against wokeness.

No. I’m strictly speaking about their actions. The only people who got upset by the logo change are snowflakes.

You’re specifically saying the company cow towed to the right, when in fact it was universally disliked, it’s just that right wing people cared way more and complained much louder.

Pretty sure the MAGA crowd was always their biggest user base. This smells more like ‘maybe if we double down, they’ll forget about the logo and come in more’.

Anyone who has ever worked in a kitchen or as a server knows that they are wall-to-wall queer-friendly. If Cracker Barrel has trouble now keeping things staffed (they will), this is why.

Kitchen people are often woke af because they have had to be to survive.

They’re doing this JUST to raise attention and get media coverage, as a dying brand that nobody cared about.

There are no more social consequences in the US, as long as you’re making someone angry, you’re getting attention and thus winning. That’s what all of this is, and why all of our political strategies have to change.

The biggest thing you can do to stop corporations from gutting out every last avenue of communication and political action is to simply stop spending money on them. Stop getting doordash and takeout, learn to make your own food. Stop getting coffee and spending money on excesses like games and movies.

Start hoarding the wealth away from the liches and monsters who look at literally everything you do as a money-making opportunity. Dry up the flow of blood and they will start to starve and this will force them to take actions, to kick out their employees in the government and restructure management in desperate attempts to keep line going up.

100% this. From the marketing move they were never going to do, to the reversal and shift in “values”. They were just doing the New Coke gambit to drum up business.

Other things to do, stop paying for streaming services and check out books and DVDs from your local library. Cancel expensive cell plans (since they are, unfortunately partially needed today), and switch to the cheapest MVNO that works. Downgrade home Internet to the minimum tolerable. Don’t upgrade phone, car, tablet, whatever as long as one can hold out. Cancel services like Amazon prime and impulse buy less.

Find local businesses to shop at rather than corporate chains (which can be difficult, so just a little at a time.)

Pay off debts, save, live free. Let the corpos wither.

Pay off debts, save, live free. Let the corpos wither.

Seriously, I am relieved every time I don’t get pushback on this… and it’s shocking just how much people hate this message, but we HAVE to start living within our means. We have to stop relying on debt and borrowing from tomorrow, it’s why all of this is so very bad. We fell for the magic, we believed the hype and dazzle and wanted the shiny, good thing now and every time they dangle a new good thing, we want that instead.

Rise above instincts. Return to community, to sports and walking and libraries and hiking and not sharing ANY of it on goddamn social media! Your “unique, rustic lifestyle free from debt” should not be someone’s advertising campaign!
