This 737, N3740C was built in the year 2000. Back then, 737 production was still 100% US made.
They outsourced some production to Sheffield, England for wing parts in 2018, which is far from an undeveloped country.
However, insert jokes about poor British engineering here, as that facility manufactures actuation systems for 737 and 767 wing trailing edges.
I can’t find the web sites with service/repair info right now to see if that wing had any service done in recent years, but also, in general, the aircraft is 25 years old, so it would really be down to proper inspections.
Delta’s CEO has had a giant boner for Mango Mussolini rolling back aviation regulations, so who knows (speculation, mine) how much they might try skirting FAA regs to save a buck right now. Most aircraft incidents have been…Delta so…
Boeing offshoring wing production to an undeveloped country was a mistake.

Boeing in general is looking like one big mistake these days.
