“Nah, dat didn’t hit right. Imma try again.”
“your honor… yes, i killed two people, but they combine into one person who doesn’t matter. i killed my ex who deserved to die and my wife who didn’t. they cancel each other out. am i free to go?”
Sound flogic there
Sadly, if a certain person brought this argument to the Supreme Court, they would agree with this logic.
One deserved murder, for one undeserved.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.Classic, trying to fix problem one and digging yourself into a bigger hole
A man who stabbed his wife to death “felt bad” about the murder,
On one hand, remorse can be used as a factor in reduced sentences.
On the other hand, I kinda feel like it having just led to another homicide isn’t gonna be doing that guy’s defense lawyer any favors.
It’s truly fucked up that I shared this headline with my partner and we both chuckled. I mean, it’s gallows humor. But we’re in the most fucked up timeline and we just have to accept it. I try to make the world a better place, but I’m just one person and accepting the awful reality is less soul-crushing.
Violence against women is so common you need a gimmick to get national attention for a spree-killing.
In his defense violence in general has kinda been a problem for a long time now so you do kinda need a gimmick after a bit to be notable. Kinda like how due to lake Mead having low water folks are finding a lot of bodies, that one in general kinda got glanced over weirdly fast though I guess it was kinda expected.
So…is he single?
You know what they say, “in for a penny, in for a pound.” Might as well get your time’s worth out of your prison sentence.
