Thing is, technology just… is, neither bad nor good. The principles behind every single technological breakthrough have always existed, we just figure out how they work.

Like a knife, science is a tool. The ones who misuse the tool (i.e. us) are to blame for the damage done, not the tool itself.

Sorry to be THAT guy, but… Well, Technically™, this idea has been analysed for, I dare say, centuries at this point.

This. Pretty much all of the most well-known examples of “Communism” have either been Capitalist offshoots, or Totalitarian hellscapes dressed up as Communism. There has been no actual attempt at textbook Communism/Socialism so far, from what I know.

So the answer is: “no, because we haven’t even tried it as a species.”

Or, y’know… they could do some actual parenting and talk to their kids about this. Kids aren’t morons, they’re just inexperienced. They are actually capable of understanding, like, words and stuff as long as one offers enough context for them… Actually teach the kids to use the internet, help them develop some insights.

And if anyone’s panicked about the immoral stuff going on in the porn industry (and there are plenty of things to be addressed and critiqued about a hystorically predatory domain), then address those directly! Friggin’ nurture their critical thinking and empathy! Locking them up in the fucking basement isn’t gonna Protect Them From Evil™, it just ensures they’ll be maladapted and sociopathic once they manage to escape from the fucking prison!

Why not just gouge out their eyeballs, it’s the only way to make sure!
