They’re going to do fascism no matter what! They don’t care about truth. They can just make shit up if they need to rile up their supporters.

This is like a fractal of stupid. Any portion of it is just as stupid as any other portion. I suspect it’s a joke.
Trump is a scumbag and everyone who supports him is either a scumbag, too, or a fool. None of them should be allowed to have any power.
It’s an error to try to appeal to trump supporter’s reason. They are drunk on the high of in-group belonging. You don’t reason with a drunk person about why screaming “mr brightside” while half naked in the middle of the highway a bad idea. You make him stop.
Some people are really concerned with fitting in. Probably a survival trait from early humans
Who has money to spend on a subscription?
Also even when I had money, I don’t want to keep buying the game every month. It’s stressful, and sometimes I like playing other things.
How does Joseph Ladapo sleep at night? Probably soundly on a mattress full of money.
I assume he’ll be spending a lot on security
RFK should be removed from office
Clearview AI was founded in 2017 by Hoan Ton-That and Richard Schwartz after transferring the assets of another company, SmartCheckr, which the pair originally founded in 2017 alongside Charles C. Johnson.[12][4] The company was founded in Manhattan after the founders met at the Manhattan Institute.[1] The company initially raised $8.4 million from investors including Kirenaga Partners and Peter Thiel
Of course Thiel is involved. That guy should really be not around anymore.
Is meta going to face any consequences? Probably not. Seems unjust.
When Facebook or openai or whoever is like “oh we didn’t mean for this consequence of our decisions” is that supposed to be an acquittal? If you make a machine that shoots rusty nails out sometimes, and you know this, and it kills people, that’s still some sort of crime or civil suit.
It’s not equating it with Auschwitz! You said, quote, There is no line in finding a job. No line! That’s a bold claim! So I picked a very extreme example to demonstrate that there, hopefully, is a line. It’s not equating AI to Auschwitz. It’s saying that your claim, that there is no line and you should work any job for money, is false. Once we establish that, we can then go into details about AI and where that falls. Please. Please understand how this line of reasoning works. We weren’t even talking about AI specifically yet in this sub-thread.
Your entire group’s reaction to my post was one of attack and derision, so I am well aware of where you all stand wrt to empathy.
This is funny because your opening here was calling us idiots in an echo chamber.
That wasn’t the argument nor the question. The question is where do you draw the line. I gave an extreme example I assumed is on the far side of your line. Once we have that, we can do like a binary search and try to find it. Come on, man.
There is no line in finding a job, it’s an existential need
There is no line? Absolutely nothing? You would work at an Auschwitz styled concentration camp for food money?
So anything, no matter how foolish or evil, is acceptable so long as “the market” desires it? Complaining about it makes you a dumbass?
Or are there things that should be pushed back on? What is the line?
Also, is it “sheer stubbornness” is a collection of concerns and objections grounded in facts and experience?
I think some people will reject criticism by calling someone a hater. Like, if you point out legitimate concerns about their favorite game or movie they’ll say “you’re just a hater” so they don’t have to do the emotionally challenging work of considering flaws in their favored things.
We’re all emotional creatures and things like the backfire effect affect us all, but some people seem exclusively emotion driven
You are breaking the internet with this non sense.
I think that’s their goal. Conservative types benefit when people have limited access to information
I also only allow notifications like this on select apps. Direct messaging, mostly. I let Bandcamp tell me about new albums and the library tell me about when my books are available/due, but that’s about it.
Conservatives just want to hurt out-groups, and sometimes help in-groups. They have no further consistency.
Well, he’s dead, so that’s a plus. He died in an embarrassing way, so that’s also a plus. Maybe the next would-be shithead will decide “nah, I’m not going to be a right wing grifter. I might get shot dead like Charlie Kirk”. That’s probably the biggest plus.
