At this point, if you’re a Christian it’s not unfair to just assume that you’re a pedophile

Same applies to all other religions, it’s not as if this isn’t happening in, say, Muslim or Hindu circles

    Gotta love religions

You trying to say that you think this isn’t happening in, say, Muslim circles?

Cuz I have a really good bridge here that I’d like to sell and I’d just like to be sure you’re interested.

All religions are abusive, and it’s not only sexually.

Oh my God, somebody gave an example! Quick, let’s call it a whataboutism!

My point is that ALL religions are used as an excuse for any abuse and torture and warfare and the most sadistic acts possible.

          ALL religions are evil.

          How is that for whatabout?

If you don’t want to be called out for using whataboutisms then don’t use whataboutisms. Don’t piss and moan because you were called out, it’s pathetic.

I’m missing the part where you understand it’s not a whataboutism as I just said, because they are ALL evil. Whataboutism doesn’t work when referring to ALL options

                Stop whinging.

I said something, you said whatabout something else. That’s the literal definition of whataboutism.

Being called our and whinging then doubling down and whinging more is pathetic.

Okay, I’ll be the one trying to be reasonable.

My single point is that this happens in all religions, not just Christianity. This is not to defend Christianity, this is to say it’s everywhere. If extending that little circle you made to be bigger is whataboutism in your mind then please stay out of any discussions in real life because nobody will be able to say anything without you going “whataboutism!!!”

This is not “what about Muslims”, Muslims were taken as an example, i might just as well have gone for hindi or any religion

The only religions I’ve found that don’t suck are mock religions like FSM and the satanists.

Whataboutisms are also used to distract from the point, distract from the target, to protect the target. I’m not trying to distract you from the target; fuck Christianity, all of it. I’m literally just saying that it’s much bigger than the specific group you setup.

If you still don’t get that, then I don’t know what to tell ya, buddy.

Also, if you feel bthe other side is whining then maybe you should stop responding as your response is then just whining back

Not necessarily all, there are plenty of what I would call folks religions that are more or less the eclectic tales and legends of a family or village that aren’t abusive. The abuse only really gets to be a problem once you start getting organization of a greater degree than that one uncle who knows your kins oral history like the back of their hand.

          There is always abuse

Be it physical, sexual, psychological, or just by the way of control (because that too is what all religions are about), there is always abuse

As someone who grew up in a fundamentalist Christian household, and have been around a lot of “Christians,” i think many of them become so fiercely religious because they think it will help them overcome “sinful” tendencies. For example, my father liked to drink and fight in his twenties. Around the time I was born he became fiercely religious. I’ve always assumed that was because he wanted to clean up his life to be a better dad. He stopped drinking but he found plenty of people to fight in his own house …

Onion article incoming: “John Doe, former CEO of Eternal Love, not found to have any child porn in his possession. Police were astonished to find a squeaky clean hard drive in his office…”
