I think some of these people believe that the social safety net would be better if all the (insert group here) were deported/jailed/killed because then there’s the same amount of money to be assigned to fewer people
Something they ignore is that fewer people working = less productivity = fewer resources/less money.
It’s why conservatives need to paint immigrants as both job stealers and lazy welfare queens. In either narrative there’s “less for you”.
