          Not really. In the Army every soldier is trained to engage targets at 300 yards with iron sights. Some folks are even accurate up to 500 yards.

          200 yards from an elevated position with a scoped deer rifle is not a hard shot. Hell, I’ve seen the argument, and it makes sense, that the neck was not the target. If the shooter misjudged the distance or the drop they could have been aiming for the head and it dropped further than expected, or aiming center mass and it dropped less than expected.

            Why does everyone assume trained sniper just because the shot hit the carotid artery? I’m guessing because they knowledge only comes from movies and games.

          If anyone has the practice to do that it’s someone who has a long history with guns, which also overlaps with right wing nuts more than lefties.

          Besides they were probably trying to hit his giant head.
