Hello there,

I love lemmy but I am uncomfortable with the fact some users here are genocide voters. People like @prole, @JordanLund, @goat, @cm002, @PugJesus feddit admins,… have a posting history that prooves they’re denialists and zionist.

Can we purge out the zionists mods / admins. Kthankx

Having recently had a mod lie and delete my comment for “genocide denial” (who admitted in dms that they made it up) Im skeptical of anyone accusing people of “genocide denial”, especially on a new account. Seems to be a great way to get a bunch of brain dead tankies to dog pile people you disagree with.

Ahem, no. This isn’t about cancelling or silencing people. The real issue is a full-blown humanitarian crisis and a war. Muting random regular people might seem like an idea, but it’s going to do nothing for those people and the issue at hand. It’s not great that we have all opinions, but you got to deal with it. Block them, that’s why the programmers gave you that tool. And/or switch instances. And report content you deem inappropriate. And be vocal about doing the right thing.

That is for regular users. I think mods should be held to higher standards. I think we shoud discuss whether we want to keep those. Unfortunately there isn’t a good way to deal with this. Or have elections or something… That’s not how the Fediverse works…

Free speech includes respecting speech you disagree with and speech that makes you uncomfortable.

If the roles were reversed and you were lined up to be banned because you’re not siding with the “correct” side, you’d be crying abusive censorship.

That’s what the downvote and block buttons are for.

Ah yes, just block everyone you disagree with. What a perfect way to ensure healthy discussion and not an echo chamber at all! /s
