Thankfully I am poor and won’t die in a plane crash, in the ocean, at some exotic locale, by lions/tigers/bears/elephants/alligators/rhinos/hippos, food poisoning or kidnappers.

Although, I could be in my kiddie pool as a plane crashes in my yard and a stray cat eats my carcass.

Anyone can die of food poisoning, poor people more often as they will be more likely to not want to throw out expired/questionable food

I found out the hard way that just because sausage smells and tastes fine and isn’t slimy, it can still make me sick. I had been well-rested and fed, and gotten plenty of sunshine and fresh air and it was only the third day since I cooked it, too.

Rip currents kill so many people, that sucks. I’ve been caught in one before and while it was scary I remembered how to get away from the current before swimming back in, but even experienced swimmers can drown in the right circumstances. 54 is just way too young to go.

Same , I hit one in Hawaii , before I knew it the beach looked like ants on it. I had to calm down and swim horizontal to get out of it. Never panic.

Water doesn’t give a fuck about you. My wife loves to open swim and was accosted by the lifeguards at a lake yesterday. She was offended by it but man… water doesn’t give a fuck about you and those people were doing the due diligence.

Dang, very sad. I was just in Nosara a few weeks back with my family and definitely noticed some serious rips (no surprise, the conditions that make a break good for surfing also make it dangerous).
