Even if you argue that Dem gerrymandering is an advantage, Texas Dems could have still blocked the effort there while California Dems gerrymandered their own state. Can you answer what was gained by Texas Dems allowing this vote to go through?
The statement you quote says their condition was the session ends. They did not have the numbers to stop a vote that is why they did the quorum trick to begin with. I don’t think you understand the situation at all.

They absolutely did have the numbers to stop the vote which is exactly why there was no quorum and why Republicans couldn’t pass the bill with them gone. I understand the situation perfectly. Considering you misread the quoted text and believe they had no power to prevent a vote, I think it is you that doesnt understand the situation.
