Hey folks! I’m completely new to Lemmy and still figuring out how everything works around here… But I’d love to share a project I’ve been building.
It’s called VOID (Versatile Open-source Infrastructure for Developers) - an open-source, local-first second-brain (note taking app but more powerful) application that combines the flexibility of Obsidian with the powerful organization of Notion.
Unlike many other tools, VOID is not just another note-taking app. It’s built with the idea of being a true second brain that you fully control. No vendor lock-in, no hidden cloud, no feature walls. Everything is open-source, customizable, and designed to adapt to your workflow instead of forcing you into someone else’s.
I’m currently building it with Rust, Tauri v2 and Vue.js. For certain plugins and configs, it also supports SurrealDB as a database.

Yes, but you’re ignoring the broader context. Despite increasing attempts to suppress protest rights in my country, I still do not fear the same sort of reprisal that a Russian might for going against the regime. It is an entirely different ballpark and I do not think a direct comparison is reasonable. Russia has been known to go after people’s families, to enact collective punishment.
@princessnorah well isn’t that just another reason for russians to do something against their regime? Many countries overthrew their oppressive governments. It just won’t happen with the silence the russians are choosing. No trust me, I live closer to them so we get much more of their “culture”. They are just trying to wait, head down, until it blows over and then they will act like everything is fine. They are just letting us clean up their mess, while they don’t risk ANYTHING.
And yet, despite a few sporadic protests, what are USians doing to overthrow their regime? What have they been doing for the last twenty years to stop this from happening? Under Biden people sat around idly, without a care in the world. Sure, they talk a lot online, but yet they DO NOTHING in the real world. So if you’re going to hound one of these groups while letting the other exist without harassment, then I’m sorry but I don’t believe you have any integrity.

In that I won’t excuse any of these so-called “superpowers” that terrorise the rest of the world? I won’t excuse Russia, nor the US, nor China. If you aren’t going to treat them all with the same level of disdain, then your bias is showing, and I’m going* to assume you lack integrity.
@princessnorah The whole time I’m agreeing with you that US is doing evil things in Gaza. You just don’t want to see it. Because you are just trying to dismiss me. Which is exactly what a fake user from St Petersburg would do, that’s a known tactic since way before both of these wars. Whataboutism all the way. Shut up and put your money where your mouth is, I have already sent the payment I was talking about. Your turn.
What payment are you talking about? Regardless, as previously mentioned, I’m disabled and on a pension. Protesting this weekend is me putting my money where my mouth is. I’ll try and get a photo to post on !onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone so look out for that.

Firstly, do you have any actual proof apart from your word that you’ve made this donation? Because it’s a quite manic, and frankly hard to believe, claim to make.
Secondly, I don’t need to boast on the internet when I am able to make donations to causes I believe in (though it’s usually to other queer, disabled folks).
Thirdly, it’s a bold strategy to boast directly to someone who’s clearly in a much more restricted financial situation than you about your disposable income.
