What is called “democratic socialism” these days mostly just amounts to a market economy with a reasonable level of social security and public infrastructure.
I genuinely don’t understand why it’s proponents call it democratic socialism. That name will immediately turn off a lot of Americans. Should have called it democratic patriotism or something.
Bare minimum is all people want to see. That is why I want democratic socialist but most people are scared off by socialism.

They’ll be called socialists no matter what they call themselves. Might as well embrace it.
Democrats would rather have permanent dictatorship run by a pedo than deliver the bare minimum.
