A revived EU proposal backed by 19 member states could force apps like WhatsApp and Signal to scan encrypted messages, raising alarm over privacy and surveillance.
Loss in global trust. If the EU app scans people’s messages people will just say they’re probably doing it for everyone. They also risk losing their near-global dominance if all their tech savvy users pick a new home and trigger a chain reaction bringing everyone with them. Next thing you the rest of the world starts ditching WhatsApp for a superior alternative (which predominantly just lack users currently)
they failed ton of times but it only takes once for them to win. i don’t see how this does not pass a some point. it is a question of when imho
Faceberg will comply also, why wouldnt he, he makes money either way.

I don’t agree with the analysis but this not how these clowns have been acting historically imho
Who, WhatsApp? They’ve fought via the legal system to retain privacy a few times.
